Employee Spotlight - Jocelyn W.
Jocelyn has been with Perfect Memorials for a little over 1 year and currently works amongst our Warehouse & Shipping Departments. She has many different tasks here at Perfect Memorials, and her hard working spirit is an exemplary addition to our teams. Wife and mother are two titles she currently claims, alongside 'Cat-Mom' of her three cats, Jynx, Spirit, and Reign. We interviewed Jocelyn and asked her a combination of personal & business questions, here are her answers below.
Who is your favorite person in the whole world?
My husband, Jared. We have been together for 10+ and married for 5+ years. We got married on Star Wars Day, May 4th! It was a Vikings themed wedding, our guests walked down the aisle to the Imperial March from the movie. He is a 'Sith' (Darth Maul) and I am a 'Rebel' (Han Solo).
What brings you joy?
My kids! I have two, Lillian (11) and Aiden (13). Lillian is a Disney nerd, and loves fashion and makeup. Aiden is passionate about Pokemon and drawing. My husband and I really love teaching them new things and exploring the Como Zoo and Duluth. Since we like to travel, we want to bring the kids to South Dakota, Washington D.C., and Universal Studios as well. That is on our bucket list.
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A cat, I would get more sleep. We have 3 female cats. Jynx & Spirit are sisters from the same litter and Reign is a rescue from a Walmart parking lot. They all have ended up being emotional support animals.
What do you like most about working at Perfect Memorials?
It's a very chill environment, and I can listen to audiobooks or podcasts while I work. The staff is very understanding and if we make mistakes, they use it as a teaching opportunity.
Which products do you like to work the most with?
Packing and shipping multiple products. It really keeps me busy. Most customers order 2+ products, for example: they get an adult sized urn and a couple keepsakes. I enjoy packing everything together to make sure it stays secure through the shipping process.
If you could go back to the first day you started, what would you tell yourself?
Don't be afraid of hard work. The warehouse and shipping departments do a lot more than people see. It's behind the scenes, and we have to make sure our customers' products are handled with extra care.
