Urn Size & Filling Information

This urn is 45 cubic inches in volume making it suitable for a loved one who had a healthy weight of 45 lbs or less. Please make sure to double check the weight of your loved one. Due to this limited size, the urn generally will only hold a portion of the ashes from an adult. This urn is often used for a child, as a sharing urn that is displayed inside a home or to house a segment of the ashes while the others may be buried or scattered. On the bottom of the urn is a removable panel with a d-ring closure to secure it shut. The panel has a rubber gasket to keep the inside of the urn air-tight. To fill the urn the panel will be removed, a bag containing your loved ones remains is placed inside and the panel is put back in place.

Displaying & Burying The Urn

This urn makes a great work of art to display in your home. The bottom is covered in felt to avoid scratching any surfaces this may be displayed on. However, if the plan for this urn is to be buried, it is important to consider a burial container. Burial containers will protect the urn from damage when buried as it is not meant to carry the weight of burial on its own. The Crown Vault Urn Burial Containers are made from lightweight polystyrene. It can withstand 4,300 pounds of top load pressure on a single vault! This container is designed to protect the urn and any other keepsakes inside when buried. A wide lip allows the vault to be carried easily and allows for a clean adhesive application; adhesive is included.

Personalizing This Urn

This urn offers two separate optional plaques and you can choose a silver or gold finish. A personalized plaque brings another level of personalization for a lasting family momento, passed on for generations. The addition of a loved ones name, legacy dates, and their titles (father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, etc.) are most common. The plaque comes unattached to the urn to ensure they can be permanently adhered to the urn with the provided adhesive, just as you desire.

The front engraved plaque allows for a total of 3 lines with 65 characters each to fill with any custom text you'd like in either Monotype Corsiva or Times New Roman font. There is also room at the bottom of the plaque to have an optional poem engraved. You can add optional artwork engraving as well. See your artwork options above. Under your personalized text, there is space to add a brief poem from the choices shown above. An optional poem plaque is also available for the back of the urn. The engraving and urn will never fade, tarnish or rust.

The plaque is not attached to the urn prior to shipping. This allows the freedom for each person to adhere the urn as you see fit, with the included permanent adhesive.
